"This tablet did everything that I expected it to and more. It's so well designed and considering how thin the unit is it's hard to believe it's a fully-fledged Win7 computer. Seriously impressive."

TEGA v2 Tablet - A look at Windows 7 by Geekanoids

TEGA v2 Tablet - A look at Windows 7

This is a second review on TEGA v2 made by Dave Cryer. TEGA v2 is a perfect machine running Windows 7. Tegatech did some Windows 7 tweaking to make Windows 7 more tablet friendly.

We use medium fonts, and it comes preloaded with the Thinix Touch software. With the big-button interface in great addition and makes it easier to control programs. We customized the control buttons on the right side of the device to make some tasks simpler. Pressing the Home button for one second brings you to your desk and pressing it for five seconds will bring up all of your current windows. And a third feature to this button is if you hold down the Home button for ten seconds that will act at pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete. The back button is the on/off switch for the built in Wi-Fi, and if you hold it for longer it will enable/disable the SIM card mode.

World's first Windows tablet with Swype typing by Stephen Fenech (Tech Guide)

World's first Windows tablet with Swype typing

Tech Guide got its hands on the world's first Windows tablet to offer Swype – the Tega v2.1.

With tablets becoming an increasingly popular format the amount of typing we will be doing on a touchscreen is only going to increase. Swype typing allows user to type fast and accurately by joining the letters on the keyboard without lifting their fingers off the keyboard.

Lifting your finger off the touchscreen after each letter and trying to accurately strike the next letter can be difficult.

But Swype can achieve the same thing simply by connecting the letters you want to type.

And even when you don't quite connect to the letter you want to include, Swype's built-in dictionary can still work out what you're trying to say.

I tried the Swype Beta on the Tega v2.1 and was amazed by its accuracy and speed.

Another thing I liked was the fact it can be done with one finger – which is often how we type if we are holding the tablet in the other hand.

TEGA v2 Tablet - a simpler UI with Thinix Touch by Geekanoids

TEGA v2 Tablet - a simpler UI with Thinix Touch

This is a third review on TEGA v2 made by Dave Cryer. This time it's an introduction on Thinix Touch - Enabling Windows-Based TouchScreen Devices.

TEGA v2 has built-in Thinix Touch. Thinix Touch enables a user to leverage the power of a Windows based computer, with the power of a highly touch-optimized user interface. Thinix Touch provides a really efficient and FUN solution for using a touchscreen computer based on Microsoft Windows.

Thinix Touch can be used on a normal computer to provide a simplified user interface. In other words, Thinix Touch does not require a Touchscreen monitor. It works fine with a keyboard and mouse in a variety of situations

TEGAv2 hits the Tech Blog big time with full review on Engadget c/o @joannastern

Tegatech Tega v2 review by Joanna Stern

We haven't seen many -- okay, any -- Windows 7 slates from major manufactures (i.e. HP, Lenovo, ASUS) like Steve Ballmer promised back in July, but one thing is for certain, smaller companies aren't just sitting around waiting for the other shoe, er slates to drop. We've already gotten our hands on products from the likes of CTL and Netbook Navigator, but Australian-based Tegatech also wants a piece of the large touchscreen pie with its 10.1-inch Tega v2. Like the others, the $799 Tega v2 is pretty much a netbook that's lost its keyboard -- it's got an Intel Atom N455 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 32GB SSD that boots Windows 7 Home Premium -- but the 0.5-inch / 1.9-pound slate sets itself apart by being one of the thinnest and lightest out there. Oh, and did we mention that it dual boots Android? So, is the Tega v2 the Win 7 tablet you've been waiting for -- assuming you have in fact been waiting for one? Hit that read more button to find out in our full review!

First Look Video: TEGA v2 Windows & Android Tablet

Tablets running Windows 7 are expected to start appearing in numbers as the year closes, and the first such slate is now available for purchase. The TEGA v2 tablet is only slightly bigger than the iPad, yet sports a full hardware configuration capable of running Windows 7 Pro quite nicely. The v2 also has the unusual distinction of booting into the Android OS in addition to Windows. This video is a tour around the thin tablet, demonstrating how much hardware can be crammed into such a small package.

TegaTech TEGA v2 Tablet

"The TEGA V2 is the thinnest and most beautiful windows tablet I've ever used. The lines, aluminum back, and smooth touch panel on the TEGA V2 are well designed. It is easy to tell that a real tablet user designed it from the ground up."

"This is a tablet I would be proud to carry around and use. It doesn't scream 'geek'. It looks every bit as professional as the iPad. The ample bezel room surrounding the screen makes it very easy to hold while browsing the web or reading."

"At boot up, I'm given two choices: Android 1.6 or Windows 7. Pressing the Home button allows me to choose the boot choice, then pressing the Return / Enter button makes the selection "
